Here is a quick HOW TO for posting images on the forcepike.net forums.

1. Upload your images to a hosting service such as flickr, imgur (or similar)... note that there are many free options here.
2. Copy the direct link to the image on the hosting service
3. When you are making your post here, click on the Img button below the post subject and paste the link between the [ IMG ] and [ /IMG ] tags that will show up in your post.

If you have any problems with this, please do not hesitate to contact me for help.

Please note: Photobucket has recently changed their policy in regards to third party image hosting and is no longer a recommended source for hosting images.

The only problem I had in relation to this, is that the forum doesn't seem to thumbnail the images, or resize them.

So if you link them it puts the full size images in the post.. which destroys the layout and readability of the post.

This can often be resolved by using a free tool called image resizer and choosing small or medium before uploading the photos to the hosting site.

For Flickr, Use the Embed option and click on the BBC tab. Copy and paste that code into the body of your post.

One small wall I've hit, is that I can't seem to host my avatar image offsite, using Flickr.

Any idea on what I'm doing wrong? haha :)

I'm using the same method for my avatar and signature using Flickr.... make sure you are putting the BBC code in the Link Offsite box for your avatar

Also make sure your avatar doesn't exceed I believe 150x150 as the maximum size...

Tried all that, seems the BBC code is too long ?

Sorry about this, usually don't get stumped like this

Thanks !

Try renaming your avatar icon file with a shorter name?
